A IMPORTÂNCIA DA SEGURIDADE SOCIAL NO BRASIL

Abstract

The Federal Constitution of 1988 brought to Brazil significant innovations regarding introducing more comprehensive public policies in the scope of social security, thus leveraging its power of reach, as it covered the social layer until then devoid of social assistance and unprotected regarding social security. However, the topic is little discussed popularly, and even little discussed in the classroom. In this sense, the objective of this work was to understand the concept and legislative evolution of social security in Brazil, as well as its fundamental importance for every Brazilian citizen. To achieve the objective, the methodology used was qualitative bibliographical research with a deductive approach, using books of doctrine, scientific articles, and official government websites. Through this research, it was possible to describe and analyze the triad that makes up social security and its pillars and advance the understanding of how Social Security affects the lives of Brazilian citizens.
